FAQs
Why has my pond gone green?
The 'green' in the water is single-celled green algae that have multiplied to use the available nutrients in your pond water. This is common in new ponds in the spring and summer months. To prevent this, you can add enough pond plants to cover 2/3rds of your pond. They will use the nutrients in the water and block out sunlight into the pond. Alternatively, a quick permanent fix is to fit an ultraviolet clarifier and pond filter to your pond such as the Blagdon Minipond Filter. When fitted correctly, they are guaranteed to keep your pond crystal clear.
