FAQs

How should I clean my filter?

Filters contain good bacteria that are the life support system of your pond. NEVER clean your pond filter with tap water as that will kill the bacteria in your filter. The best way to clean your filter media is to simply rinse them in buckets of pond water. All you need to do is remove the heavy detritus - it doesn't need to be sparklingly clean.

This will keep the bacteria alive and the filter media working properly. Afterwards, you can top the pond up with tap water, ensuring you pre-condition the tap water with Blagdon Water Start or Interpet Fresh Start to remove the harmful additives such as chlorine.
